FIBA 3x3 Challenger Edmonton Day 2 recap: Harlem wins title, Sir wins Shootout

Spectators packed the courtside seats and lined the railings on both levels as the 2018 FIBA 3x3 Challenger Edmonton came to a exciting conclusion at  the Ice Palace in West Edmonton Mall on Sunday.

NY Harlem 3Ball USA defeated Serbia's Ralja Itnglactic 21-17 in the final to capture the championship of the first ever FIBA 3x3 Challenger event held on North American soil.

Edmonton's Steve Sir, the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Masters Final Shootout champion, thrilled his hometown fans with a lights-out performance in the Shootout final, winning a FIBA 3x3 Shootout competition for the third time this year.

Ajou Ajou of Harry Ainlay won the high school slam dunk competition, scoring the highest marks from celebrity judges Ryan King Jelena Mrdjenovich, Katherine Plouffe, and Andrew Parker.

As finalists, Harlem and Ralja both qualified for the upcoming FIBA 3x3 Masters event in Kuala Lumpur.

Two Canadian teams advanced to Sunday's quarterfinal round. Sir and Saskatoon dropped a hard-fought game to Amsterdam Inoxdeals, while Winnipeg AP came up just short against Ralja, 15-13. For complete results click here.
