ABA Alumni of the Week: Milica Gajic
University of Calgary Dinos student-athlete Milica Gajic has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for Feb. 23 – March 1, 2026.
Gajic came off the bench to help Calgary defeat the host UBC Thunderbirds 63-57 in the Canada West women’s basketball championship final at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver on Feb. 27. In 22 minutes of play, the fourth-year guard scored 9 points and dished out a game-high 4 assists, while also recording 1 rebound and 1 block.
It was the first Canada West women’s hoops championship in 25 years for the Dinos, who will now look to win their first national championship since 1989 at the U Sports Final 8 Women’s Basketball Championship, taking place in Quebec City from March 5 to 8.
A native of Calgary, Gajic averaged 6.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 20 games during the 2025-26 regular season.
Gajic was a member of the gold-medal winning Alberta women’s basketball team at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara, Ont.
