ABA Alumni of the Week: Tea DeMong

University of Saskatchewan Huskies student-athlete Tea DeMong has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for March 2 – 8, 2026.

The fifth-year forward capped off her fantastic university hoops career by helping Saskatchewan capture its second consecutive national championship, at the 2026 U Sports Women’s Basketball Final 8 in Laval, Que.

Over three games at the championship tournament, DeMong averaged 6.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. The St. Albert native scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in the championship final, a 77-68 victory for the Huskies over the University of New Brunswick.

DeMong, who hails from St. Albert, played for Team Alberta from 2017 to 2019. She was a Second Team All-Star at the 2017 Girls 15U Canada Basketball National Championships, a Second Team All-Star at the 2018 Girls 17U National Championships, and a First Team All-Star at the Girls 17U National Championships in 2019.
