Capturing the spirit of Youth Provincials
The 2019 Alberta Basketball Youth Provincials, hosted by the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association at the Saville Community Sports Centre March 8-9, was a huge success, bringing 120 teams together in competition and camaraderie, and a celebration of our game.
'The ABA Youth Provincials has been a tradition in Alberta for over 35 years," says Paul Sir, Alberta Basketball's Executive Director. "It is a special weekend for kids from 9-18 years of age and is designed to provide a fun, competitive event that will end the winter season for community based players. The atmosphere at the Saville Centre was filled with joy and excitement for the players, coaches, families and spectators that we hope will give them lifelong memories they can share.
"Thank you to the ABA staff for their hard work organizing and running the event. A special thank you to the out of town teams who braved long distances and inhospitable weather to play. We already are looking forward to 2020!"
